Trust
Prefer to hear it?
2 min readThis chapter can be read aloud to you — a quiet, unhurried voice, nothing added to the words themselves.
Trust. Something we all desire, and something so difficult to obtain. We think we've made a better decision about who to trust, and time after time we pick the wrong person. It gets to the point where you never want to trust again.
Can we live a life without trusting? This lonely feeling sucks. But who, how, and why should I trust a damn soul again? Guard up, protected like the barbed-wire walls in prison. Came in alone, leaving alone — so what's the point?
But who wants to be lonely, confined in these four walls? They say there's nothing new except someone new. So trying with someone new doesn't sound so bad. There's always the what-ifs.
Am I willing to take a risk and give it a chance?
A reflection
Who would you trust again if you let yourself?
